Dry Salon
Dry Salon is a cafe interior created in a narrow and long house more than forty years old. The renovation reorganizes the basic construction to improve the quality of the space. A transparent skylight replaces the former rain shade and brings daylight into the dark interior. Large glass windows at the entrance connect the indoor and outdoor areas. A grille on the exterior conceals the air conditioning unit and allows easy maintenance. Simple stone and wood blocks can be used as tables or seats, so visitors define the arrangement themselves.
Dry Salon Commercial Space by Chien Ting Chen was selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Dry Salon Commercial Space received the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
