Wrapped Volumes
Wrapped Volumes is a temporary sales office located on the outskirts of an industrial city. The site has no strong immediate context, so the design takes its cues from the approach road. The movement of the road is translated into a continuous wrapped facade that lifts the structure from the ground. Parts of the wrap form a landscape layer, while other parts act as a protective skin that reduces heat gain from the south. The facade is ribbed plaster, crafted by local craftsmen. The compact interior spaces are washed in natural light.
Wrapped Volumes Sales Office by Boney Keriwala has been identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Wrapped Volumes Sales Office was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which rewards exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
