Photosynthesis of Space
Photosynthesis of Space is a residential interior design for a split-level house of 180 square meters in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The house receives abundant daylight, and the remodel plan was based on that condition. Black, white and gray tones with limited wood color and low chroma allow light and shade to act as the main decorative features. The lower floor holds an open dining room, kitchen and living room. Materials include marble, painted iron, walnut, teak, oak and engineered hardwood flooring. Three private rooms are finished in light black, dark walnut and dark gray.
Photosynthesis of Space Residential House by Chien Hung Lu has been selected as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Photosynthesis of Space Residential House was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
