Life with Mountain
Life With Mountain is a residential interior design for a mountain villa in Taiwan. The pitched roof structure and uneven floor levels created a fragmented layout, while scattered pillars made the rooms feel confined. Three consecutive high and low stages raise the visual height of the public area. Clear vertical lines of iron pieces and grilles connect the front and rear walls to enlarge the sense of space. The pillars are concealed through a new arrangement of the plan. Materials, artwork, sunlight and plants bring eastern and western cultural references together.
Life with Mountain Residential House by Fang Ming Lo was featured as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Life with Mountain Residential House was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award which honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
