Goethestrasse 1
Goethestrasse 1 is a private house in Bad Homburg, Germany. The design transforms a strict development plan into a calm architectural form shaped by its location. The building develops its own scale in relation to the landscape and the surrounding buildings. Generous relations between inside and outside are created on a small plot with valuable trees. Light, shade and the reflections of the water surface in front of the glazed facades shape the interior atmosphere. Concrete, steel supports and prefabricated wooden elements form the structure.
Goethestrasse 1 Private House by Gronych + Dollega Architekten has been highlighted as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Goethestrasse 1 Private House received the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2019. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that celebrates exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
