Castle of Fairy Tale
Castle of Fairy Tale is a duplex apartment interior located on the fifth floor of a residential building. The original layout was closed and dark, so partitions were removed and rebuilt to form a tall hall. The hallway was moved to the exterior and the living room was extended horizontally through an arcade and grating lines that bring in sunlight. Part of the ceiling was removed to increase the vertical height and to create a semi-open attic on the second floor that serves as an extension of the study. Four arch windows in the attic wall hold artwork.
Castle of Fairy Tale Residential House by Fang Ming Lo was recognized as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Castle of Fairy Tale Residential House won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2019. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade that celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
