Moonlit Garden Wuxi
Moonlit Garden Wuxi is a sales center located in the New District of Wuxi, China. The interior uses regional materials linked to local industry, such as cloth, iron, bamboo and Taihu Lake stone. A twenty meter entrance passage uses mirrors to create repeated reflections that suggest a bamboo forest. The ground floor recalls the historical background of Wuxi through these local materials. A belt of artificial greenery is installed on the ceiling of the underground lounge. The facility remains open like a public park, so local residents can meet and interact.
Moonlit Garden Wuxi Sales Center by Tomohiro Katsuki has been highlighted as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Moonlit Garden Wuxi Sales Center was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2016. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
