Suzhan Tea Room
Suzhan Tea Room is a tea house interior created for quiet tea tasting. The design combines traditional oriental elements with a modern minimalist approach. The concept is drawn from the wabi sabi aesthetic, which finds beauty in imperfection. Wood and bamboo are widely used, and these natural materials age visibly over time. The color scheme is based on beige, brown and black. Beige walls and ceilings give a soft and warm tone, while a red tea table contrasts with brown decorative elements. Calligraphy, paintings, statues and dried flowers add a calm atmosphere.
Suzhan Tea Room Relax Immersion by Ningyu Zhang was recognized as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Suzhan Tea Room Relax Immersion earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design award that honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
