Journey Southward
Journey Southward is a residential interior design located in Shenzhen, China, covering about 423 square meters. Themes from traditional Chinese landscape painting are combined with refined materials, including pressure-treated art glass, translucent stone, shadow wood veneer and stainless steel. The living room and dining room walls are finished in Roman ivory white travertine, which adds texture, brightness and warmth. Kitchen walls of slate gray stone are polished and cut into smooth wavy surfaces. The design connects modern living with nature and local culture.
Journey Southward Residence by Z-work Design was identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Journey Southward Residence won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
