Unfinished Journey
This project revitalizes a five-decade residence through structural reinforcement and adaptive reuse. Original red bricks and exposed concrete are preserved and enhanced with a custom steel system improving durability and spatial fluidity. Breathable materials address climate challenges while movable elements introduce flexibility. The design balances memory and function, transforming the house into a timeless living space that grows with its owners.
Unfinished Journey Residential by Vivian Chiu has been selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Unfinished Journey Residential won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
