California C House
California C House is a resort-style inn located in the desert of California. The plan follows the shape of the letter C and uses a minimalist style. The building is constructed with pure wood. The layout is inspired by the traditional courtyard homes of Beijing. Sunlight analysis guided the design, so guests can rest in the outdoor courtyard and view the natural surroundings while remaining shaded. The interior combines natural materials with calm colors. The total area is 381 square meters. All soft furnishings, including the headboard, were custom made.
California C House Desert Hotels by DOUBLETEAMs has been identified as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. California C House Desert Hotels was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
