The Hoyu
The Hoyu is an office headquarters located on the rooftop of a commercial building in Taipei. The interior design draws inspiration from the streamlined shapes of cars, in reference to the client's work in the automotive agency field. Wooden slats are arranged alongside the glass curtain walls to create an orderly sequence of light and shadow, recalling the broken and unbroken lines of the Chinese Bagua trigrams. A triangular void in a travertine wall reflects the building exterior. A water pond beside the building supports a calm and oriental atmosphere.
The Hoyu Headquarter and Office by Szu-Wei Lee was recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Hoyu Headquarter and Office was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
