Yaki Gentle
Yaki Gentle is a grill restaurant in Taipei. The interior recalls a European opera house through winding pathways, curved walls, arched doorways, high ceilings and red curtains. Theater-style booths line both sides, while the central area remains open for a spacious feeling. Symmetrical and asymmetrical elements create visual balance within a Victorian inspired framework. Materials include decorative high pressure laminate with a marble effect, molding, woodwork, water based paints and PVC flooring. Downdraft vents hidden under the raised floor remove smoke and odors.
Yaki Gentle Restaurant by Ju Yu Wu has been highlighted as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Yaki Gentle Restaurant received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
