Idyllic Forest Living
Idyllic Forest Living is a residential interior design in Taichung, Taiwan. The 157 square meter home follows passive house principles to limit energy use. Green materials are applied, such as low formaldehyde cabinets, non-toxic latex paint and water-saving bathroom fixtures. The color palette combines gray with vivid tones, and the living and dining rooms feature marble. Two television walls carry a cement texture finish that changes color under different lighting. The study also serves as a guest room, and the dining table extends when needed.
Idyllic Forest Living Residential by Chia Hsien Chao was recognized as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Idyllic Forest Living Residential earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024.
