Baia
Baia came into existence in Shibuya the center of Tokyo metropolitan as a cave suddenly appeared in the city. It consists of 5 floors; a basement, 3 stories, and a rooftop terrace, and the design concept of the entire floor is a cave within the city. The designers believed only a minimal design could visualize the fascinating and exotic atmosphere of a cave, and kept it minimal using emerald green lighting and mortar which they think suited for this modern cave. The lighting plan of fascinating emerald green lights added glamor to the space and helped visualize the design concept.
Baia Night Club by Akitoshi Imafuku was identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Baia Night Club won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
