Helios Airport Brewery
Helios Airport Brewery is a brewery pub interior located in an airport terminal in Naha, Okinawa. The design lets visitors drink freshly brewed beer beside the brewing machines, which stand in full view. The theme is a factory laboratory, and the base color is a bright blue taken from the local sea and sky. Wood-grain materials in several areas create a calm and natural space. The facade uses steel plates finished with titanium-style art paint, so the flat surface remains visible from the lower floors. A sculpture made from used barrels stands behind the bar.
Helios Airport Brewery Amusement Pub by Shinjiro Heshiki was recognized as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Helios Airport Brewery Amusement Pub was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
