The Forest of Life
The Forest of Life is an exhibition hall interior created for a smart energy company in Nanjing, China. The space covers about 406 square meters and presents the culture, technology, and achievements of the company. The theme joins advanced technology with the image of a primeval forest. Water rippled stainless steel panels on the ceiling and curved lines guide visitors along a path. Moss, simulated plants, and animal figures suggest natural scenery. Forest patterns are spray painted on stacked acrylic sheets and lit to suggest a forest interior.
The Forest of Life Commercial by Lei Dong has been highlighted as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Forest of Life Commercial received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
