Tianqingli Residential
Tianqingli Residential is a housing cluster located on the north side of the Shangtang River in Hangzhou, China. The design applies Song-style architecture through a simple modern language, keeping traditional forms readable. Thirty-two households are arranged on a site of 17900 square metres. Multiple courtyards and lanes link the homes to the surrounding hills and water, balancing openness with privacy. A curtain wall system combining aluminium alloy and wood supports the traditional appearance while controlling cost and construction time.
Tianqingli Residential Townhouse by Shen Likun was selected as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Tianqingli Residential Townhouse received the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2023. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which rewards superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
