Haocailou
Haocailou is a restaurant interior design that presents the culture of Shunde. In Shunde culture, Haocai means good luck, festivity and rich color. The project uses many lanterns, traditional colors and layered materials to create a lively atmosphere. The phoenix, a symbol of good fortune and a local nickname for Shunde, is the main theme. Yellow stairs, with handrails that act as supporting beams, lead to a bar topped by a double-layer phoenix boat that also holds wine. Private rooms on the third floor recall traditional fish lanterns.
Haocailou Resturant by SIG Design was selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Haocailou Resturant earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
