Deep Root
The first floor of this building was formerly used as an open shop. Since the family members are facing the change of lifestyle, the space has been significantly changed vertically to meet the needs of future use. Considering the circulation, lighting, airflow and storage, many places are designed with white space to maintain the flexibility of the space, and the designer readjustment of the layout has realized a relaxed gathering area, a multi-functional kitchen with Asian kitchen culture, and four fully functional bedrooms. The exterior reimagining balances views with privacy.
Deep Root Residential House by Chien Yu Liu was identified as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Deep Root Residential House earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
