Shang Long
Shang Long is a funeral home located in Taipei City, Taiwan, covering 400 square meters. The interior includes a reception, a rest area, a private room, two worship areas, three Buddha halls and one restroom. A circle behind the curved counter symbolizes the fullness of life and eternity, where the beginning meets the end. White, gray and blue tones, marble and wood create a calm and warm setting. Soft light and wide walking areas reduce the sense of oppression associated with traditional funeral homes. The space offers a quiet place for remembrance.
Shang Long Funeral Home by Don Wang was highlighted as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Shang Long Funeral Home earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
