Karloca
Karloca is a hotel designed as a conference and wellness centre for business travellers and families. The building has seven levels and a net area of 15,000 square metres, containing a lobby, a bar, a wellness area, a sauna area and guest rooms. Community functions share one large open space, where subtle changes of material mark the boundary of each area. A sculptural mass in the lobby serves as a Turkish cafe and recalls the local history. Raw native materials form the external cladding, and large glass surfaces keep the interiors bright.
Karloca Hotel by Zoltan Madosfalvi has been identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Karloca Hotel won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which rewards excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
