Borromei Loft
The challenge of this project was to be able to re-propose the succession of secret spaces typical of Milan's historic canter, going beyond the ancient building structure through a contemporary design that would guarantee a new atmosphere. Being able to ensure adequate natural lighting for all spaces was only possible by creating wings and new openings that would allow the light filters through the large skylight in the living area to reach the most private spaces.
Borromei Loft Residential by Barbara Fassoni was recognized as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Borromei Loft Residential was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
