Urban Patio
Urban Patio is an office interior located on a narrow site in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Two square volumes are inserted to break the long narrow layout and to enclose a central atrium that preserves the existing trees. Circular skylights in the roof bring in daylight and views, so the space changes with the seasons. The office screen is made of glass with a waterfall texture. The atrium floor and walls are made of stable, waterproof and recyclable plastic wood. The plan of 400 square meters holds work areas, meeting rooms, a patio and a lounge.
Urban Patio Office Space by Kevin Hsieh has been highlighted as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Urban Patio Office Space received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
