WAT Green Urban Jungle

WAT Green Urban Jungle is a social retail space and cocktail bar in Shanghai, China. The rectangular room measures 8 meters long, 5 meters wide and 4 meters high. Walls and ceiling are clad in green terrazzo, cut into thin sheets and fixed to aluminum honeycomb panels so that the heavy material could be used overhead. An elongated counter with a rotating belt carrying cocktails stands at the center, below a suspended electronic message board that follows its shape. Large street-side windows bring in daylight and frame a seating area with a counter and seven backless chairs.

WAT Green Urban Jungle Social Retail and Cocktail Bar by Chen Lin has been identified as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. WAT Green Urban Jungle Social Retail and Cocktail Bar was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
