Shiyi
Shiyi is an office interior design created for a design studio in Wenzhou, China. The original layout was simplified, and interspersed blocks outline the space and add contrast to the walls. Stone, wood and metal give simple colors and primitive textures. The interior is 5.38 meters high, so the volume was divided into two floors. A Y-shaped staircase with two separate paths avoids an existing beam and leads to two different areas. A suspended tea room on the second floor is carried by a steel frame fixed to the ceiling.
Shiyi Office by Yannan Zhang was selected as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Shiyi Office was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
