Grayscale Shadows
Grayscale Shadows is a residential interior design for a house of 392 square meters in Taipei City, Taiwan. The layout includes a living room, a dining room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Neutral grayscale tones and hand-painted wall finishes give the rooms a calm and rustic character. Wood, white tones, dark gray shades, iron and glass are combined throughout. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in daylight and open the interior to the surrounding trees. A screen of slim iron pieces and glass film lets light pass while keeping privacy.
Grayscale Shadows Residential House by Chih Wen Mau has been featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Grayscale Shadows Residential House earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
