Dawn of Spring
Dawn of Spring is a building that serves as a demonstration area at first and as a kindergarten later. The three-storey volume stands at a street corner within a residential community in Zhengzhou, China. The second and third floors are lifted above a transparent lower block, which creates a floating appearance. A glass curtain wall wraps the first floor, while perforated aluminium panels cover the upper facades. Vertical wrinkles in the panels reduce monotony. Interconnected screen walls at the entrance enclose a quiet water courtyard.
Dawn of Spring Building by JUNYUN Architecture Design Office was highlighted as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Dawn of Spring Building received the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which honors excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
