The Eclipse
The Eclipse is a residential apartment interior design in Hsinchu, Taiwan, covering 82 square meters. The design follows the Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, based on imperfection, asymmetry and simplicity. Mineral painting is applied across the whole space and forms irregular, three dimensional surfaces. Natural ochre tones and oriental oak flooring define the living room. The curved ceiling recalls clouds and eclipses, and light passes through its seams. Furniture is made from recycled wood to reduce tree cutting.
The Eclipse Residential Apartment by Carina Lin has been highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Eclipse Residential Apartment was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
