Midst of Light
Midst of Light is a residential interior design completed in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The home is planned as a senior-friendly space, with wide circulation, low sofas, low cabinets and handrails, so wheelchair users can move freely. A semi-open layout divides the areas, and a large curved marble cabinet defines the public space. Wood veneer, gray flooring and Malay lacquer are combined in similar tones. Linear LED lights outline the rooms at night, while light-permeable sand curtains soften the daylight. One bedroom is used as a reading space with a raised wooden countertop and hidden storage.
Midst of Light Residential by Yu Ju Lin has been identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Midst of Light Residential was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
