Sama
Sama is a pavilion designed for street music performance. The form and materials of Sama improve acoustic quality and spread sound evenly, avoiding a single point of focus. The structure is made of a metal frame filled with eco-brick material, covered inside and outside with a micro-cement coating. Solar cells on the outer layer supply the energy needed for lighting and electrical equipment. The pavilion shelters musicians and instruments in different weather conditions. Sama measures 15 by 15 by 6 metres and can be built in different locations.
Sama Music Pavilion by Sarina Jamali was highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Sama Music Pavilion earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which rewards exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
