Ocean Vista
Ocean Vista is a public toilet renovation located along the coastal trail in Coloane, Macau, on a hillside facing the ocean. The interior layout was reorganized and new functional elements were added to the existing concrete structure within the same footprint. A viewing platform, a balcony seating area and a long bench allow visitors to look at the ocean and to observe the stars at night. The brown and reddish added elements are inspired by the mineral covered rocks of the coastal trail. Lines in the new features filter sunlight and create moving light and shadow.
Ocean Vista Public Bathroom by Manuel Lap Yan Lam has been featured as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award.
