Elegant Palace of Stones
Elegant Palace of Stones is the interior design of a villa in Shalu District, Taichung, Taiwan. The space covers 330 square meters. Natural black marble with vivid texture forms the base of the main floor and suggests flowing water. Marble partitions, wooden materials and leather furniture create a calm and elegant atmosphere. The ceiling uses curved geometric forms that hold indirect lighting. A tea tasting area with long curved tables and chairs occupies one corner, where large windows bring in daylight and views of the greenery outside.
Elegant Palace of Stones Residence by Yu-Ting Chang was featured as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Elegant Palace of Stones Residence won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
