Istanbul Equestrian
IIEC is an equestrian facility designed for horses and riders. The complex includes stables, an indoor arena of 35 by 70 meters and an outdoor arena of 50 by 80 meters, all arranged to international equestrian sport standards. The structure uses a steel frame, a mechanical stone cladding facade, a wooden ceiling and metal roofing. Operable glass roofs provide natural ventilation and daylight, and the sand surfaces are served by a watering system. The compact layout lowers energy use and management costs and improves access for horses and riders.
Istanbul Equestrian Equine Design by Equine Design Studio has been identified as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Istanbul Equestrian Equine Design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which recognizes excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
