W Plus
W Plus is a hair salon located in a residential alley in the east district of Taipei, Taiwan. The interior is arranged in three progressive layers, based on a laboratory garden concept. A floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall opens the salon to the outside, while a concrete platform at the entrance holds an indoor green garden. A cement screen filled with round holes divides the rooms and keeps the view open. Grey flooring, a stainless steel work surface and recycled materials give the 196 square meter space a cool tone. The space also suits exhibitions, lectures and events.
W Plus Hair Salon by Millton Yu was recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. W Plus Hair Salon received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
