Kang Yuan
Kang Yuan is the lobby interior of a hotel in Tianmen, China. The space covers 2800 square meters and has a height of 3.5 meters. Wood, glass, metal and stone are the main materials. A screen wall replaces the usual reception desk, following traditional architectural form and creating visual depth through the borrowed landscape method of oriental gardens. A three-stage corner staircase links the two floors and offers changing views, so moving through the lobby resembles a garden walk. Warm light and a calm atmosphere support the transition from outdoors to indoors.
Kang Yuan Hotel by Liang Fang has been featured as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Kang Yuan Hotel received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
