Air Box
Air Box is a residential interior design for a 275 square meter home in Hangzhou. A suspended box was built in the living room to divide the whole space into two parts. The unusual architectural form creates an indoor outside space, which becomes the main feature of the house. Black, white and gray tones give the rooms a pure and calm character. Marble flooring extends from the corridor to each area and adds a quiet texture. Lighting is used with restraint, and a simple glass door accompanies the wall.
Air Box Residential House by Mu Yuan has been identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Air Box Residential House was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award which rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
