Sixty Minutes
60M is a bar interior located in Xiamen, China, covering a total of 258 square meters. A curved circular bar forms the centre of the plan and supports a new way of drinking and socializing. The theme is based on the water element and is interpreted through different materials. The wave-like wall is built in three layers, with irregular curved wood above and below and a custom made GRG wood interlayer. Hidden linear lights deepen the lines of the wall and can be adjusted for light and shadow shows. The bar surface is made of polished water millstone.
Sixty Minutes Bar by Junhong Huang was identified as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Sixty Minutes Bar received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
