The Hotel Nudibranch
Nudibranch is a hotel and resort located on Nanji Island in Zhejiang Province, China. The design covers 31000 square meters and is inspired by sea creatures found around the island, such as the nudibranch and other shellfish. The building is raised on soft legs that connect the ground to restaurants, bars, a spa and a swimming pool. The public area resembles a floating space above the sand. The sandy ground extends into the hotel and forms an outdoor playground in the shade. Eco-friendly technologies reduce the environmental impact.
The Hotel Nudibranch Hotel and Resort by Yan Pan was recognized as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Hotel Nudibranch Hotel and Resort received the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
