The Hub
The Hub is a mixed use development designed for tourism in Healesville, Victoria, Australia. The project combines a heritage market, an epicurean center, a brewery, a hotel, a restaurant and a function center. A pedestrian link connects all uses across the six acre site. The buildings step down to follow the topography, and earth materials relate the development to the surrounding landscape. The design concept brings the outside in and opens the site to walking visitors. The intent is to support local tourism while keeping the character of the neighborhood.
The Hub Tourism by Nidal Ammache has been identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Hub Tourism won the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that recognizes exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
