Blue Moon
Blue Moon is the interior design of a language school in Taipei, Taiwan. The plan is divided into classrooms and toilets and covers about 105 square meters. Open circulation and transparent partitions keep each teaching area visible. Concrete walls are supported by the floor slab and stand above glass partitions and glass doors, so the concrete appears to float. Movable louver screens, shaped as sine curves and combined with LED light, divide the group discussion area and can be rearranged as needed. The design balances shared and private study spaces.
Blue Moon Classroom by Andrew Liu was recognized as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Blue Moon Classroom won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
