Staff House
Staff House is an employee accommodation interior located in Fujian, China, with a total area of about 10,000 square meters. The original building had a low floor height, a short hallway and a crowded layout. A vertical design was adopted to improve the use of space, and concise lighting brightens the rooms. The reception hall on the first floor is white and holds a red reception desk. Curved and streamlined forms soften the edges of the space. The restaurant area adds blue and yellow accents. Materials are simple and practical.
Staff House Accommodation by Shaoqun Chen has been selected as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Staff House Accommodation received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
