Hours on the Slope
Hours on the Slope is a factory and office complex in Taichung, Taiwan. The site is divided into three buildings arranged in response to the environment and the orientation. On the west side, where sun exposure is high, dark windows and reduced window areas emphasize the sense of volume. Granite and a green building coating system cover the external walls. Natural stone mosaic was selected for the curved surface of the office building. A buried pipeline system guides cool outdoor air into the plant, and roof solar panels shade the top floor parking area.
Hours on the Slope Working Place by T.E&C Architects & Associates has been identified as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Hours on the Slope Working Place received the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that honors superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
