QMC Hospital
QMC Hospital is a day treatment centre located on the campus of the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, United Kingdom. The building holds 15 departments, including diagnostics and theatre suites, across two operational floors of 9,500 square metres. The plan is arranged around a central atrium, which brings natural light into the interior and supports high levels of sustainability. Circulation areas are enclosed in clear glass. A careful study of consultation space made the building about 20 percent smaller than standard criteria would require.
QMC Hospital Day Treatment Centre by Adrian Light has been selected as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. QMC Hospital Day Treatment Centre was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award that celebrates superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
