Hide and Climb
Hide and Climb is a residential interior design covering 110 square meters in Taipei, Taiwan. The home combines rock climbing with spaces for working, learning, reading and playing, while keeping traditional areas such as the kitchen, dining space and bedrooms. A tree house form is used as the central icon, and the organic shape of the climbing wall is repeated across the plan. Birch plywood is the main material. The layout can change over time, as the tree house is planned to become a wardrobe when the two children grow older.
Hide and Climb Residence by Happystudio was featured as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Hide and Climb Residence won the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
